Shady Areas: Landscape Options

Too often homeowners and sometimes landscapers use sun-loving plants in shady areas. Then they discover over time that these plants no longer flower and the plants themselves become weak. The good news is that there are many shade tolerant plants that can add flowers and color to shady areas. Some are well known like the Hydrangea and Hostas and there are others that will work well in shade. astilbe-visionWhen considering plants for shade you also want to vary leaf texture and colors.
